    The line had been lifted for road works since the end of summer season 2005 and service over part of this section resumed 12 July 2010 - but only as far as the site of Grace Dieu Junction as the railway have declared that they will not reopen to Bilberry. Regular, advertised services will use all the reopened railway so this entry will be withdrawn.

    Aylesbury Vale Junction - Quainton Road
    On Spring and August Bank Holiday Mondays a shuttle service of trains between Aylesbury and Quainton Road used this section.

    Mossend East Junction - Mossend North Junction
    On Sundays prior to Christmas an hourly shopping service runs between Shotts and Glasgow Central via Whifflet.

    Schedule: 0922 SuO and hourly to 1822 SuO Glasgow Central - Shotts; 0845 SuO and hourly to 1745 SuO Shotts - Glasgow Central

    Downpatrick Loop Platform - King Magnus's Halt ("King's Halt") - present end of line towards Ballydugan (Ringreagh) [Downpatrick & County Down Railway]
    For Gall Gael Viking Festival and Halloween Weekends, trains used this section (south line) (instead of the Inch Abbey line).
    2010 dates: 30 May, 29, 30, 31 October
    Schedule: 29 and 30 Oct: trains between 1800 and 2100; 31 Oct: trains between 1400 and 1700
    For Christmas service ("The Lapland Express") from 2009 trains ran to Inch Abbey and back, then backed to the Loop Platform by a short section of the south line.
    2009 dates: SSuO 28 November until 20 December
    2010 dates: SSuO 27 November until 19 December
    Schedule: 1400 from Downpatrick and about every 45 minutes to 1700
